It’s time for another supplement review!
Today I’m looking at H2N Nutrition diet whey to see how it stacks up.
If you are training for fat loss in the gym, then there’s a good chance you are already using a form of diet whey as your primary whey protein supplement.
Heck, they’re everywhere nowadays.
Nowadays, diet whey formulas are almost as popular as regular whey.
But that doesn’t mean they are all great, of course.
The supplement industry is littered with sub-par products – often carrying premium prices.
So let’s see how H2N Nutrition diet whey performs on the deliberately harsh Russ Rating score-o-meter.
What To Look For In A Diet Whey
There’s a lot of unnecessary confusion surrounding the term “diet whey”.
Once you get past all of the marketing hype, all it really means is that you’re getting a serving of protein coupled with a few fat burning ingredients.
There’s no miracle fat loss formula.
There’s no magic at work.
A good diet whey supplement will adhere to these targets:
- 15-25 grams of protein
- under 5g fat
- under 10g carbohydrates
- a combination of fat burning ingredients such as caffeine, green tea extract, flax seed, etc.
A high protein/low carb formula will help you to smash your daily protein targets without also impacting your carbohydrate target too significantly – useful for those on low carb diets – while the inclusion of ingredients like green tea extract and l-carnitine is designed to increase the fat burning element of the product.
A few diet whey products – including this one – also have the added benefit of being gluten free, if that means anything to you.
However, it’s worth noting that the fat burning blend included in diet whey supplements is really rather pointless.
So long as it hits the macronutrient targets, consider it good to go.
Because although the inclusion of items like caffeine or CLA is “nice”, it’s really just a marketing gimmick designed to separate it from other formulas on the market.
The dosages of these fat burning ingredients is way too low to consider them greatly beneficial to your overall diet, and if you wanted to supplement with something like caffeine I’d recommend just picking up a dedicated product, like this one.
H2N Nutrition Diet Whey Review
Let’s take a look and see how it performs.
As you can see below, it does its job easily:
- 15.5g protein
- 0.5g fat
- 1.9g carbohydrates
- 250mg CLA, 600mg taurine, 260mg acai berry extract, 85mg l-carnitine, 75mg green tea extract
So, in terms of being a productive diet whey, H2N Nutrition diet whey ticks all the boxes we’d be looking for.
This is a great product for those training for fat loss, and one many of my clients already use.
* this makes H2N Nutrition diet whey the highest rated supplement on the blog to date. Well done guys!
